1. Install the ntfy app on your phone

2. Add your server and subscribe in the app

Default Server (set exactly this):

https://ntfy.myjeffstuff.com

Topic to subscribe to:

4cp

Steps in the ntfy app:

  1. Go to Settings → Default server and enter the server address above (no trailing slash).
  2. Go to Settings → Advanced → Custom headers for that server and add:
    Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN_HERE
(replace YOUR_TOKEN_HERE with the token you set up for the server)
  3. Tap the + button and subscribe to the topic above.
iOS note: For instant pushes on iOS with a self-hosted server, the server must have upstream-base-url: https://ntfy.sh configured. After setting that on the server and re-subscribing in the app, you should receive pushes without opening the app.
Quick test from your computer:
curl -H "Title: ntfy test" -H "Priority: high" -d "Test at $(date)" https://ntfy.myjeffstuff.com/4cp
You should see the notification on your phone right away.

Topic and token are secret — don't share them.

3. Verify it works

After subscribing, go to Test Notifications to send a real test alert from this server.

You should receive the push on your phone (may need to force-close and re-open the app the first time on iOS).

4. Plan 16 — 4CP proximity alerts

Instantaneous GridData.Demand vs the instantaneous month max (not the 15-min settlement 4CP). See Z_findings 2026-08-06 (defence floor).

Active Jun 1 – Sep 30, including weekends, shutdown stages 12:00–20:00 CT. Early month (day 1–2) suppressed until the bar is within 8 GW of last month’s peak or day ≥ 3. Thresholds are deliberately off-round (355 / 1550) — do not “fix” to 350 / 1500.

Live: demand 81,381 MW · bar 86,486 MW · gap 5,105 MW stages today: wind_down=False · off_now=False · all_clear=False

Test each kind on the Test Notifications page (Plan 16 buttons + “[TEST]” prefix).
